Cataracts
A cataract refers to clouding of the eye's natural lens that lies right behind the pupil and iris. This debilitating condition is one of the most common causes of visual impairment in people over the age of forty. It is believed that as you get older, the risk of cataract increases.
However, there are many other cataract risk factors other than aging, such as diabetes, obesity, smoking, hypertension, excessive alcohol consumption, family history, etc.
